Interesting thing is that after going to track day I find that I ride slower on the streets. Far better but slower. I think it is because after going to the track and hitting the corners at full throttle and straights at 115.... well around town doing 55 in a 45 just isn't all that exciting in comparison. Can't wait until I can get the 650RR ready and going for the next one. ;-)

Good news: So I ah bagged another gig in the city (SF for you out of towners). Good bye unplanned vacation, I start on Monday.

Bad news: it's sandwiched between SF BMW (decent dealership) and Dubbleju, motorcyle rental and extended test ride emporium.

Basically, I'm screwed.

So now I need a bike that I can put lots of miles commuting on...

Tiger 1050?
V-Strom DL1000
R1200GS...?

But I don't seem to be fully able to commit to a street-only tourer.

And then there's the F800GS.

Damn. Full circle.

Don't like the 2010 colors tho, Orange!???!?! Seriously????

But then again, it does sound like a box of angry wasps...

Take that back, must have been the F650GS.

The 800 looks good in Lava Orange.

Was the prophecy true after all? It is an orange-bike after all...

Welcome back, Peligro! Now we just need to get Tex back in town and Crashy to move north. JD will be along soon, I hope.

Your new 'hood is my 'hood, my friend. E-mail me when you get settled into a routine and we can start the SOMA espresso tour. Vega on Folsom betwixt 9th and 8th is now open from 7:30am to 5pm. Blue Bottle is on 5th and Mission with motorcycle parking, and the list goes on...

When my commute switched to primarily freeway, I went with the Vstrom. It handles the wind soooo much better and is surprisingly nimble for a liter-bike. Take mine for a spin sometime. Mileage is nowhere near what the twin-spark F's get (on a good tank I get 40-45 mpg, average is 35-38 mpg) but is does from 0 to "holy Sh*t!" pretty fast.

Wolfgang at Dubbelju is often in the process of selling his older bikes off at a good price (F800GS, 1200GS...) and you can get his rental fee refunded by BMW-SF if you buy a bike from them.

I was actually thinking about a Strom. I liked the DL650 some crazy fool loaned me on 395. So much POWER. I hear they are pretty much rock-solid and can take a lot of miles. The romance of the F800GS is alluring, though. Price tag, not so much.

Still love my F8GS. A strom in wee form would be a good tourer & commuter. No match for the 800 but a good bike. That orange bike is nice!! Used F8 anywhere?

Have you looked here: http://www.searchallcraigs.com/

great site for finding stuff

Glad to hear you landed a new job, laid off for 10 days that must of been hell.

Get a Hardly, put ape hangers on it and wear black leather. The locals will think your a Hell's Angel and you'll have lots of room while splitting lanes.

Problem solved.

You were always suspected of being a latent Chromosexual anyway.

Thanks Tex. Messing around with a new contract and dealing with a probable breach of contract with my last client.

I have been watching a lot of TV show's about outlaw biker gangs. Did you know the Warlocks only had 75 members? The Chain Gang coulda taken' em! I reckon ADVRider.com vs Sport-Touring.net would be a beat down for the ST guys!

I'm now looking for a patch that says 99%er ;-)

I know a really good lawyer out near Concord that assured me California is a right to work state. They cannot stop you from "plying your trade". You of course would have to protect any IP that you know from previous losers that just let you go.

You should be good to go. Let me know if you need her contact information.

JD Thought you were working on getting fired? How'd that work out?

Breach of contract? Did you sign a non-compete? If so ithas to be limited in scope & range (aka size & scope). Rather than fully hijack & bore you all hit me up on email if you want to discuss further. Short version they can prevent you from competing but not from working/applying your skillset completely. So is new company a direct competitor? Same area/same customers? Etc...

Wow, uh thanks for the help but you all jumped on the wrong bandwagon. The actual issue is that my previous client is *currently* failing to honor the 14 day written notice period required in the contract to be given by either party in the event of termination.
