WOW, there's so many things wrong with this story I dunno where to start.

" When the boy's mother came home late Sunday night, she learned of the boy's injuries, troopers said. She ended up hospitalized because of an overdose of bipolar medications the same night, Browning wrote."

All I can say is poor kid...

Unbelievable. That is some real trailer trash. And they said it was a "sober" day for the dynamic duo.

Straggler I keep forgetting that you're up here, reading your posts and then thinking "hey I just read that story" and then I remember we read the same newspaper *grin* We really do have some oddball news (and not necessarily GOOD oddball!) up here...

Yep, it's jerks like that that make me soooo proud of being male. I've watched that Alaska state trooper show on National Geo channel and the troopers seem to be very considerate and not typical hard headed cops at all. Yet reading this article you could almost tell they wanted to practice some retroactive birth control on these two knuckle heads.

This poor kid has almost no chance, and I pray for him. If this kid grows up to be normal and not screwed up is going to be a miracle. I'm hoping he doesn't climb a clock tower with a 30.06 before he graduates high school.

I've found that to be true of most Highway Patrols, including CHP. I got stopped the other day by a CHP in the middle of nowhere and he was absolutely the nicest person I've ever met. There is something about having backup father away. I've also noticed the opposite in small towns in part of a larger area, Torrance and El Segundo Police in Los Angeles for example. If there are lots of cops around to help, it leads to a gang mentality and they don't even try to be nice. (got stopped by 5 LA sheriffs recently and they were very unpleasant.)

I don't actually get stopped that much, it was a bad month
