+1 on the ETX battery. Works great and I think that thing would start my truck! Have you read the FAQs here? With a good battery these things usually start very well.

exkbike sounds like an ex-K-bike owner. Anyone know ANY K bike owners who do their own work? I don't. Motorcycling can be extremely expensive when you don't do any of your own work.

And now that I, too have pissed of exKbike, I'm going to assume he'll be going back to the "superior engineering" that is obviously present in every single K bike that has ever left the factory in Duscheland.

No, No...he/she can't participate in the photo contests. Jailbreaks are wide open. F650s seem to be the minority at jailbreaks these days

Oh shoot. I meant that as a joke! I've been getting harassed lately for showing up at Jailbreaks with a Y*m*ha! HA HA HA!!! You dont have to have an f650 to go to a Jailbreak- I am proof of that! :-D

Yeah, that damn "parking light" will do in a battery every time. Took me awhile to conscientiously make sure I turn the key all of the way every time.

Is that a uni-cycle ? I know that "girlie bikes" will not do wheelies.

Which is 2/3 the size of stock which makes one wonder where the engineering deficiency is in not making room for a bigger one.

Girlie Shmerlie...

Odyssee (sp?) 310 batt does the trick! (as long as I don't leave the "park" light on...)

To heck with JP's poweful battery lifting the front tire with the starter motor alone . . . look at that beautiful ocean through the trees. I'll bet he barely even looks at it any more either. shame shame.

Agreed. I have the same battery: ETX15L (got mine @ Autozone).

exkbike, you need to rule out other electrical problems before giving up on the bike. My '07 had a few electrical gremlins early on. They were pretty much all traced back to a crappy stock battery or simply flaky connections at the battery terminals. The battery referenced above has very robust terminals. I haven't a single electrical issue since installing mine.

Same battery here. Hot, cold, wet...don't matter it cranks the motor over. Wet cell batteries are good for getting the bike home from the dealer, and from home to the nearest place that sells AGM batteries.

No, I'm not that wasteful. I would wait until it showed signs of dying first. Maybe.

+1 on the wet cell batteries getting ya home from the dealer and back to nearest place that sells AGM!

And the problem is not the battery on these bikes, it's the size of the dinky alternator.

With all the farkles we add, you'd think BMW might have redesigned it to take on a bigger load (heated gear, auxillary lights, etc.), that way I could have a butt warmer like the RT
