In these challenging times, we often find ourselves asking questions like:
Can I get another 1000 miles out of this rear tire?
What kind of oil is best?
Who left the toilet seat up?Well, I can't tell you who left the toilet seat up but I can tell you that zdkayaker and Fauster will be hosting the 2nd (bi)annual Northeast Jailbreak from August 5th to August 8th 2010.
Location is TBD. Hopefully someplace more northeast than Pennsylvania but we'll take what we can get in regards to facilities and tolerance of biker trash.
Reserve the time off with the boss, fire up the backyard still and get a new rear tire. You ain't gonna get another 1000 miles out of THAT one.
11/19/09 UPDATEWe have reserved a block of rooms at the
Gray Ghost Inn located at the base of Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont. Double occupancy rate is $95/night + tax with full 'cooked-to-order' breakfast in the morning.
Why the Gray Ghost Inn? I'm glad you asked.
They are a bike-friendly Inn. One of the owners even rides an F650GS!
Vermont has some of the best riding in the northeast.
The facility offers a backyard fire ring and an indoor BYOB lounge so we have somewhere to congregate in the evenings.
They will readily cook dinner for our group if requested at a nominal fee. I'm thinking of a Saturday evening group meal.
There are several bars / taverns / diners within walking distance of the Inn. Ride all day, park your bike, and enjoy New England hospitality without having to worry about getting back to the Inn.
A heated outdoor pool and hot tub.
Here's the deal on reservations. The Inn has 26 rooms and there is also a Y*m*ha Star Motorcycle group booked for the weekend of August 6th - 8th. zd request that they hold 10 rooms for us with the option of reserving more if required. Call the Inn directly at 800-745-3615 and they'll take your name and a CC number. Carina told me that she won't charge the credit card until check-in but needs it to reserve the room. So pair up and make your reservations!
Don't worry if the Inn fills up. There are several neighboring Inns and the Molly Starks State Park campground is only about 7 miles to the south.
Ben & Jerry's, here we come!
