In these challenging times, we often find ourselves asking questions like:

Can I get another 1000 miles out of this rear tire?
What kind of oil is best?
Who left the toilet seat up?

Well, I can't tell you who left the toilet seat up but I can tell you that zdkayaker and Fauster will be hosting the 2nd (bi)annual Northeast Jailbreak from August 5th to August 8th 2010.

Location is TBD. Hopefully someplace more northeast than Pennsylvania but we'll take what we can get in regards to facilities and tolerance of biker trash.

Reserve the time off with the boss, fire up the backyard still and get a new rear tire. You ain't gonna get another 1000 miles out of THAT one.

11/19/09 UPDATE

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Gray Ghost Inn located at the base of Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont. Double occupancy rate is $95/night + tax with full 'cooked-to-order' breakfast in the morning.

Why the Gray Ghost Inn? I'm glad you asked.

They are a bike-friendly Inn. One of the owners even rides an F650GS!
Vermont has some of the best riding in the northeast.
The facility offers a backyard fire ring and an indoor BYOB lounge so we have somewhere to congregate in the evenings.
They will readily cook dinner for our group if requested at a nominal fee. I'm thinking of a Saturday evening group meal.
There are several bars / taverns / diners within walking distance of the Inn. Ride all day, park your bike, and enjoy New England hospitality without having to worry about getting back to the Inn.
A heated outdoor pool and hot tub.

Here's the deal on reservations. The Inn has 26 rooms and there is also a Y*m*ha Star Motorcycle group booked for the weekend of August 6th - 8th. zd request that they hold 10 rooms for us with the option of reserving more if required. Call the Inn directly at 800-745-3615 and they'll take your name and a CC number. Carina told me that she won't charge the credit card until check-in but needs it to reserve the room. So pair up and make your reservations!

Don't worry if the Inn fills up. There are several neighboring Inns and the Molly Starks State Park campground is only about 7 miles to the south.

Ben & Jerry's, here we come!

Sounds great; the organizers certainly are two great guys!!!

Now, can you give me the coordinates for TBD, I know I have been there but don't remember where or when.

I don't have the exact coordinates handy, but it's easy to find.

First, you go down the old road and turn right at the intersection that's 5 miles before the dead end. Then keep going for a piece before turning left at the old barn that burned down 20 years ago. After you pass the 8th dirt driveway (don't count the gravel or stone driveways), look for a fork in the road and take it. That'll get you to within shouting distance of the event.

Just exactly the kind of reply that I expected.

Newbies, consider this as an adequate warning as to what kind of event it will be. In fact, if you are not up to S.O.P.P. quality, and don't even think about asking what that is, then don't even consider coming to this event..............no matter what the forthcoming National Heaslth Care Program/Obamacare covers.

I'll be there if. The 'if' is there because that will be after my second octogenarian birthday...........if it comes.

Jeez Fauster - You forgot to tell him to turn left at the dog in the yard!
I've penciled this in and will attempt to assist with TBD - any takers for an island retreat in the shadow of TMI?
I also know of a few in Juniata and Mifflin County.

meh. TMI doesn't scare me. :>

I live close enough to a nuclear plant that my kid has to take a an iodine pill in the case of an emergency.

I'm in. It's waaaaay far enough in advance.

WTH is NE of Pennsylvania. I didn't even think that was part of the US of A. They speak some alien language up their. Isn't that where Barney Frank is from? No Way man, I ain't hangin out with THOSE kinda people. But, if'n you can convince any other hillbillies to make the journey and bring along some antifreeze to take the chill of those cold NE nights and if'n you can convince any of those cool northeastern school teacher babes to risk the association, I might try to put it on my agenda.

I've been there before,I think those are the directions to WV jailbreak at Carbon, but you forgot about the left at the goat for rent sign.

Count me in.

Keep the updates coming. The 2008 N.E. Jailbreak was outstanding!! Had a great time and met a great group of riders.
Hopefully I'll be able to attend the 2010! Todd

Just marked the dates on the calendar. When you say "more northeast" are you thinkin' Adirondaks?
