1 1/2 up, through the Ouachita and Ozark National Forest.

My boy(6yro) and I took a little trip, last weekend, to Clarksville, AR. Every year, the Advrider group, meets up in late October for a "Fall Colors Tour". Late October is absolutely the most beautiful time in Arkansas. The Ouachita NF is about 50 miles west of my home. We traveled out on Friday and it was a cool ride. The temp was around 50°F and the wind was strong out of the NW. After a few miles of dirt, we cut our trip short on Friday and headed to the motel.

The next day, we checked out of the Super 8 and headed North, into the Ozark NF. The overnight temp was in the 40's but once the sun came out, the weather was perfect. We rode from Clarksville to the Oark Cafe, by way of Horse Head Lake. We then rode to HWY 21, past the swinging bridge and then on home. My boy did fantastic but he got sleepy on the way home, so we stopped a lot.

Nate - fine looking young rodent you have affixed to your pillion there. Good to see the armor too, nice committment, but now he needs a bike of his own to rat around on. What the heck is "The painter gang"? Are you in two gangs?

Last February, I picked up a Y*m*ha PW50 for him to start out on. I hope to pick up another bike this winter.

The Painter Gang is my family and we roam the hills of Arkansas. Thanks... nlp

Yep, a good looking bunch. If you add up the optometrist bills you could buy a new bike instead, but then they would wander off into the river or something.

I tell people I am getting a new shock but what they don't understand is that I am undergoing orthodontic shock trying to put braces on my daughter. Why can't they be pragmatic like they are in the South and just not HAVE any front teeth?

I agree with all the LePain as Nate will probably see the othodontist thing too later, quadrupled. Enjoy them while you can and have fun!
Put braces on the 14 yr old gdaughter, there went all my farkling money I had saved up for the bike, I might even of had one of them 250 yammies like everyone else is getting now too!
I have a little 80's Suz*k* TS185 that's waiting to be picked up this winter/spring from NY for my gdaughter (14) to learn on. Maybe after its ready to go I can coax Anna back thru (Only what 600mi away) she can help me with the teaching. That way maybe I can keep what little hair I have left from raising Brandi's mother now 33! Plus Anna has a much better temperment than I.

You would have a blast.

I love being outdoors but the F650, limits who I can take along. So last year I bought a LR Disco SE7 and it was big enough to haul my whole crew. Since January, we have traveled all around Arkansas, looking for water falls, hiking and camping. So taking a trip on the bike was the next challenge but the hardest part was convincing his momma, to let us go... ;-)

Here's some video of our expeditions. This year, we have visited at least 6 waterfalls, hiked 5 mountains and camped on the Buffalo National River. All without leaving Arkansas.
