When I post a "How To" (ie. a longer message) the scroll bar, and screen, jump around. I've never had this problem until recently, and the software on my computer hasn't changed in the past two years.

Any thoughts?

What browser are you using? Have you tried it on another computer and if so.... is it doing the same thing on that computer? I do not have an answer.... I know my web browser keeps updating... have you considered or thought about updating your browser? I use Firefox and have not had any issues.

I had the same issue pop up last night when I was updating an older post for photo references. I have not tried any other browser in lieu of IE8. I had created the post back under IE6 and had no issued back then. So I suspect its MicroSoft IE8 problem.

It is indeed MS IE 8 browser. I tried creating the following post (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=224469&p=459510#p459510) initially with IE8 but had the same problem. Instead I used the latest version of Mozilla Firefox and there was no issue with scroll bar jumping around.

To prove to myself, I edited the post referred above in IE8 and the scrolls jumps just as mcstark stated in his post.

Workaorund is to use a different browser than MS IE when creating or editing large posts.

Cool, thanks guys! It's functional, but highly annoying.

Although honestly, I've had IE8 since it came out and only noticed this problem recently - say the last month or so.

Likewise for me. I suspect one of the many updates MS sends out cause this issue. I prefer IE over the other browsers mostly out of habit.
