Hi, my baby has done 70,000kms now,and due to apparent tooth wear am wanting to replace the pulley's.
A new belt has arrived at the shop where it is being repaired after we were rear ended recently, but the guy in charge of the repairs mentioned that BMW Australia recently jacked up a lot a prices lately, and if I knew of anywhere else to source the pulley's-it may be worth it.
As the Aussie dollar is currently trading well against most major currencies,I thought I'd ask if anybody in Nth America knew of a business who did good deals-and maybe keeps good stock of Scarver items that could be at older prices. The unit has had a major service at 65k,as well as new tyres(Mich/Conti) and brake pads recently. It's already had new headstem bearings while waiting for the crash repair parts, and the seat is also being recovered.
Due to the costs involved,I thought it might be worth looking to see if I could save a few hundred.
Thanks for any assistance
Graeme

Thanks for the tips, there was nothing on E Bay anywhere when I checked though-but I did score a new front pulley from Moto Bins in the UK. Good guys BTW.
Still looking for a new rear pully....someone mentioned a store in the US called Bills for BMW parts-anyone know the full name-I can't find them!

Thanks about that, tried to find their site to no avail-found plenty of references though, could be onto something. Do you know if they have online service,or do I have to use the VOIP phone?(got their number handy?)
Saw your adjustable screen raiser, nice work.....

I know this was an old post, but Bob's BMW does not list CS parts on their site. You need to call them at 1-800-269-2627.

Chicago BMW has a search feature that works best if you know your part number.

Sorry I was late to the party, but others might be looking for parts and come across this thread.

Thanks for that, will keep that number. I'd tried to find their CS stuff before-but it wasn't there of course.
Now I may be right now,one of the partners at my local (non franchised)BMW specialsts seems to have found a barely used rear pulley for less than half new price-somewhere in the US-just waiting for confirmation of despatch. With the new front I got from Moto Bins in the UK for the bargin price of about $50-Australian(promptly delivered),almost there.
Now of course, I recently gave it too many berries leaving a parking space the other day-and snapped the belt!.We thought it may have had a few more months left  . Now my K1oo rt outfit is working overtime . So I've had to bit the bullet and order a full price belt from BMW :-( ....
But I suppose I'm already hundreds in front already :-) ,so not too bad.

Hi
May be too late, but the front & rear sprockets on the CS were faulty & were a recall item, meaning free replacement & labour. If on ebay really cheap, they could be suspect.
Found out on my CS after 1000km when the shop saw they were shredded. Initially was afraid for my wallet, as had recently nailed it on the Coromandel loop, 150 +/- of superb windy sealed roads- world famous in New Zealand.
Can't give part numbers, but for other items, after a rear-end retard hit me & did a runner, I looked at the parts online fiche at maxbmwmotorcycles.com & then ordered thru bobsbmw who will dispatch overseas (care part nos are not bracketed or you will get more than need). Check the price is less their version of sales tax. It seems customs let thru some smaller value parcels coming into the country, so if lucky one can avoid gst & customs charges, altho the bank still creams off a 2.5% conversion fee. One of my parts was $20 more than half the quoted price in NZ. :-D

Thanks for that,I did end up getting the rear from Motobins in the UK at very good price. My local non franchised Beemer specialist sourced the front from the US(possibly Bobs) at a fair price-and I paid full fare for the belt from BMW Australia($500!!!).
Over here,I think customs don't levy any import duty if the paperwork sez it's under $400 OZ$. I've bought quite a few bits from the US for the CS,and havn't been taxed yet. But I'm finding as time goes by,more business's are refusing to ship via US Mail-and the big private carriers frequently charge more than the parts cost to ship then to Australia.
Funny you should mention you were the victim of a rear ender,my bike was only just back on the road a few weeks before I broke the belt!,luckily she did not do a runner............
Thanks again
Gra
