Handguards

Postby Blue#2 on November 6th, 2009, 6:40 am

I know several people have fit the 650gs handguards to the cs, I am curious though if anyone has tried any of the aftermarket handguards that are out there. I havent had any luck finding anything labeled for use on the CS. Specifically I am looking at the Barkbusters and curious if anyone has used them or others? I am mainly looking for wind protection to extend my season. Any input as to what else has been done would be great! THanks

I just recently put on the F650GS handguards for the same purpose and they definitely cut down on the wind and with the heated grips my hands don't get that cold. I got a used pair from a guy in the chain gang and I cleaned them up and painted them because they were all scratched up. You can get them for just over $100 new from a BMW dealer. They went on pretty easily. I just had to replace a tie wrap holding wires on the right side so I could easily get the handguard on there.

I also just picked up a CEE-Bailey +7.5 windshield and put that on with Brian's adjuster brackets. I did that last night and will be heading to work shortly so I will see how that works out to cut the wind in my face.

I used the V-strom nuckle guards on my CS but I did have to modifie the hole where the clutch cable goes and make spacers between the Grip and the Bar end because the Suz*k* guards are about 1" to long. the kit is about $55

I have a set of GS guards but no hardware and they are scratched up a bit anyone want them $35 shipped USA
